'A breathtaking travel vlog that gives viewers a look at the Great Blue Hole (off the coast of Belize) in all its glory. <br /><br />This mesmerizing montage was filmed by Stephanie Nordlund while flying over the massive marine sinkhole. <br /><br />The filmer had a lot of comments about her scenic flight. She said: "For those of you unaware, the mysterious Great Blue Hole is a large underwater hole off the coast of Belize. This perfectly circular hole is situated near the center of Lighthouse Reef and was formed as a limestone cave system during the last glacial period, which began about 120,000 years ago and ended about 15,000 years ago."<br /><br />"The hole itself is the opening to a system of caves and passageways that penetrate this undersea mountain. Notable are the large populations of sharks such as lemon, blacktip, reef, hammerhead, and bull sharks."<br /><br />"All in all, fascinating underwater geology like this inspires speculation about aliens, mermaids, and monsters living in darkness.
